Uzbekistan medical-device routes are becoming more legible for qualified suppliers
Uzbekistan’s official services and Ministry of Health procurement notices set out a visible registration path for medical devices and recent market-research exercises for emergency-care equipment. For manufacturers and authorised distributors, this creates a more practical basis to build a compliant device, documentation and service-readiness file before considering any bid or channel approach.
Verified facts
- The Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services states that applications for state registration of medical devices are administered by the State Center for Expertise and Standardization of Medicines, Medical Devices and Medical Equipment under the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency. It lists a review fee of 10 basic calculation units and certificate fee of 2 basic calculation units.
- The portal lists service times of 120 days for specified categories and 155 days for other medicines, medical devices and medical equipment. These published service periods are not a guarantee of a certificate, marketability or import clearance for a particular device.
- In February 2026, the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care requested commercial offers as market research to calibrate specifications and budget for a defined equipment list. The notice asked for certificates, registration documents, user manuals and catalogues and stated that authorised distributors would need a manufacturer authorisation letter or agreement at final-tender stage.
- A July 2026 Ministry of Health procurement-centre notice reported another market-research exercise for medical equipment with appended names, quantities, technical specifications and commercial-offer form. A market-research request informs planning; it is not itself an award or open tender.
- WHO’s 2026 Uzbekistan assistive-technology assessment identifies progress in funding and voucher-based provision alongside continuing needs in eligibility, service delivery, trained personnel, standards and data. That independent context reinforces the importance of lifecycle capability, not just a device catalogue.
Horizon view
The practical opening is to prepare a full product-to-service case, not to chase a generic medical-equipment opportunity. Registration, manufacturer authority, local technical support, installation, training, maintenance, warranty, evidence of clinical fit and an accountable procurement or private-provider route have to align. Firms able to document the whole lifecycle will be better positioned for a defined notice than firms arriving only with price and a brochure.
Commercial implication and next step
For an authorised Uzbekistan medical-device case, create a controlled market-entry file: precise intended use and classification; manufacturer quality-system and product evidence; registration status and dossier; applicant/importer and distributor authority; relevant technical specification; service, installation, maintenance, training and spare-parts plan; clinical and user evidence; local-language documentation; price and CIP or other delivery assumptions; bank guarantees, payment milestones, insurance and post-market responsibilities; procurement eligibility; and a named facility or customer problem. Submit only against the current formal instrument and after verifying its date, scope, terms and responsible authority.
What to verify before acting
The cited notices do not establish product registration, tender launch, qualification, budget approval, facility need, buyer authority, award, manufacturer appointment, import permit, customs clearance, price, payment, contract or transaction. Device classification, registration, procurement eligibility and local service requirements require current confirmation for the specific product and parties.
